Chapter 1.- Description of the company
1.1 Identification
Backus and Johnston Brewery is a Peruvian brewing company belonging to the
Grupo AB Inbev, the largest brewing corporation in the world.
the company's formation dates back to 1876, when the entrepreneurs
Americans Jacobo Backus and Howard Johnston founded the 'Sudamerican Factory'
of Ice in the Rímac” which became “Backus & Johnston Brewery Ltd”, 1879.
In the year 1922, Cristal Beer was created, which over time became its
famous product. The company was acquired in 1954 by a group of investors
Peruvians led by Ricardo Bentín Mujica, who moved the main office
from London to Lima. At this time, the company was renamed "Brewery"
Backus and Johnston S.A.6
In 1994, Backus and Johnston acquired a majority stake in the market.

1.2 Location
We have 5 decentralized beer production plants located in Lima (Ate),
Arequipa, Cusco, Motupe and Pucallpa; in addition to a malt house and a water plant
mineral. But for our current work, we will only focus on the Lima plant (Ate).
