Which factors (genetics or environment) do you believe play a more
significant role in shaping personality and behavior, and why?
2. Psychological Perspectives: Describe behavior (e.g., someone
performing well in a sport) from three different psychological
perspectives (e.g., behavioral, cognitive, biological).

3. Ethics in Research: Critically discuss the major ethical problems
involved in classic psychological research, such as the Milgram
obedience studies.
4. Defining Intelligence: What is intelligence, and why is there no
singular, agreed-upon definition among psychologists?
5. The Unconscious Mind: Where have you encountered references
to Freud or his ideas about the role that the unconscious mind plays
in determining conscious behavior?
6. Conditioning Project: Spend at least 10 days using principles of
operant conditioning (rewards/punishments) to break or make a
personal habit (e.g., exercising more, checking a phone less).
Document the process and analyze the results.
7. Assessing Personality: Take two different personality tests (e.g.,
a "Big Five" test and a projective test, if available online) and
analyze their validity and reliability.
8. Diagnosing a Fictional Character: Choose a fictional character
from a book or movie and, using criteria from the DSM or course
material, diagnose them with a psychological disorder. In a follow-
up assignment, describe three different treatment methods that
could be used to help them.
9. Memory and Study Habits: Apply knowledge from modules on
memory, thinking, and intelligence to create a study guide or plan
to help a struggling student improve their learning.
10. Developmental Toys Assignment: Find toys appropriate for
children of different ages (e.g., 6 months, 4 years, 8 years) and
explain the developmental theories that make those toys
appropriate for each age group (e.g., Piaget's cognitive
development theory).
