different: referential and direct.

The existing official reference sources are those related to the

from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which are available
on the page of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

to complement the available secondary information, work has been carried out
Vehicle Counts and Classification, as well as Origin-Destination surveys, these tasks
they demanded a prior stage of work in cabinet, in addition to the recognition of the
road to identify the control stations and finally carry out the work of
field.
The office work consisted of adapting the Vehicle Classification Formats.
(Format No. 1), to be used at the pre-established control stations in the
fieldwork, Format No. 1, considers the collection of the corresponding information
to the established control station, the time, day, and date of the count, for each type of
vehicle according to axle.

Before conducting fieldwork and in order to identify and specify in situ

the default stations, prior coordination was carried out in the cabinet
for the recognition of each of the roads under evaluation by the chief of
brigade, to strategically locate the necessary stations for the application of
volumetric counting by type of vehicles.
During the road survey under study, considering the level of traffic
existing, sections were cut according to the project's area of influence,
identifying 5 sections, in the table, there is one (1) main station where
surveys Origin - Destination will also be prepared for them:

It will consider one counting station for each homogeneous demand section.
Traffic counts must be carried out according to the format of the Ministry of Transport.

The present study has considered the need to establish 05 stations of

vehicle count, 01 main located on the PE-28F highway (CHINCHERO-

DEFINITIVE STUDY FOR THE "IMPROVEMENT, CONSTRUCTION OF THE RURAL ROAD HUILA HUILA – HUATATA, DISTRICT OF CHINCHERO - URUBAMBA – CUSCO".
6. TOPOGRAPHY

The reference system to be used will be the Universal Transverse Mercator system.
(U.T.M.). The coordinates on which the study is based are referred to the Datum.
WGS-84, zone 18L.

For the topographic study, geodetic control points were used as local reference points.
(PC), obtained from the report on topography, layout, and road design.

For the densification, obtaining distance and coordinates, of the Control Points
Topographic (BM) used the Rapid Static Topographic method along with the software
Topcon Tools version 8.2.3.

In order to determine the elevations of the Geodetic and topographic Control Points,
the method of double visual leveling and closed leveling was carried out.
Since there is no official BM from the National Geographic Institute near the project, it was taken
the elevation of point PC-3, as a reference level for the leveling network.

The topographic survey contemplated a strip width of 40 meters, that is, 20.
meters on each side of the axis.
The topographic survey was conducted using conventional methodology with
total station and satellite methodology using differential GNSS receivers.

In the topographic survey subject to this study, included between the

kilometers 0+000 to 6+896.869, the tri-orthogonal plan system has been used as
reference, where the Z axis (height) has the direction of the vertical, the Y axis the direction
North and the X axis the East direction.

7. GEOMETRIC DESIGN

The design standard used for the geometric design of the definitive study for the
improvement, construction of the neighborhood road Huila Huila–Huatata, has been the
Road Manual of Geometric Design (DG-2018).

It is necessary to mention that because Provias Nacional will intervene with a

double lane project in a part of the stretch (Huila Huila sector) considered
for the present definitive study (Image 01), it has been determined with the mentioned
Entity to establish a junction point between both projects (Image 02) with the
purpose of avoiding the overlap of axes.

DISTRICT OF CHINCHERO - URUBAMBA - CUSCO
Image 01: Overlap of Axes

Image 02: Junction point between Decentralized Provías projects and Provías
National

Therefore, the project is divided into two sections:

Section with provisional intervention, from km 0+000 to km

1+134.474
This section will remain open only until Provias
National completes the dual carriageway of the project 'Construction,
Improvement and Rehabilitation of the Cusco–Chinchero Road
Urubamba
In this section, the change of alignment is being avoided as much as possible.
and therefore, exceptions are being considered in the
geometric design parameters, given their provisional nature.

2. Section with definitive intervention, from km 1+147.934 to km

6+896.869, which is developed based on the regulatory framework DG-2018.

The interferences are presented in a plane; however, they have been

considered within overhead expenses.

Road classification

Classification according to its demand

According to the Traffic Study, the projected IMDA for 20 years is 3817 vehicles/day, for
consequently, the road is classified as First Class Road.

FINAL STUDY FOR THE "IMPROVEMENT, CONSTRUCTION OF THE LOCAL ROAD HUILA HUILA–HUATATA
DISTRICT OF CHINCHERO - URUBAMBA - CUSCO
FIRST CLASS ROADS:
They are roads with an ADT between 4,000 and 2,001 vehicles/day, with a two-lane roadway.
lanes of at least 3.60 m wide. It can have crossings or vehicle passages at
level and in urban areas it is advisable to have pedestrian bridges or
in its absence with road safety devices that allow speeds of
operation, with greater security.
The roadway surface of these roads must be paved.

Classification according to its orography

The route features rolling and rugged terrain, depending on the orography.
dominant of the land over which its route runs, the road is classified into
Undulating Land (Type 2):

WAVY LAND (TYPE 2)

It has slopes transverse to the axis of the road between 11% and 50% and its slopes
longitudinal ones are between 3% and 6%, requiring moderate movement
of lands, which allows for more or less straight alignments, without major difficulties
in the layout.

Technical characteristics of the roadway

The design speed is defined according to the demand classification

(First Class Road) and based on the classification by orography (Terrain)
Wavy - Type 2), for which with the previous parameters it was determined that the
Design speed is 60 km/h for the section of the definitive sector and for the section of
The provisional design speed is 40 km/h.

The rainfall information used was provided by the Service
National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (SENAMHI), regarding records of
maximum precipitation in 24 hours available in the study area of the
selected station (Urubamba rain gauge station).

The statistical analysis established the Pearson III distribution for the station
Urubamba, which fits the sample data satisfactorily,
result of the Kolmogorov–Smirnov goodness of fit test.

The design flow, for the determination of the hydraulic section in the
break, was obtained through the application of the triangular unit method.

Drainage ditches:

Drainage ditches are channels that are built at the bottom of the
filling slopes in a longitudinal manner lateral to the alignment of the road,
to collect the waters that flow down the slope and adjacent land, as well as

drainage waters from ditches, to direct them towards the ravine or discharge
closer to the general drainage system, thus avoiding erosion
of the land.

The types of trenches to consider are the following:

Type I, II, and III trapezoidal section ditches: They are of type I trapezoidal section.

covered for the section with definitive intervention.
Type I and II, with a slope inclination of 0.5H:1V, height h = 0.3m and base width

In the case of the provisional stretch, the longitudinal drainage (ditches and trenches of
drainage), will be earthen, so it is recommended to consider a
stabilizing coating for these.

Below is the list of ditches and trenches to be projected in the

Embankments:

When the road embankment is raised over land with the presence of
water to prevent capillarity from causing water to rise through the embankment
up to the running surface, it is recommended to place a layer of material
draining, consisting of stones, gravel, and/or sand.

It is recommended to project embankments in the identified sectors in

field, along with the specialties of Geology and Geotechnics and Soils.

The following sectors were identified:

Section 03: From km 5+130 to 5+160

The local geology along the entire course of the 6+896.869 km in the study consists of
materials of loose soils that are composed of sandy clay in some cases
and residual soils from cultivated land.

In the classification table of cutting materials, the sections have been reflected in
that cuts occur, or that the platform of the road is adapted to the gradient
