Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced R&D Engineer to lead the design,
development, and optimization of rotary compressors for refrigerator applications. This
role requires deep technical expertise in compressor mechanics, thermodynamics, and
reliability engineering. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, cost reduction, and
manufacturability improvements while ensuring high performance and durability of rotary
compressors.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Design & Development
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of rotary compressors for household and
commercial refrigerators.
- Perform thermodynamic and mechanical calculations including compression ratio,
volumetric efficiency, and motor integration.
- Develop 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, NX).
- Plan & evaluate FEA and CFD simulations to validate structural integrity, thermal
performance, and fluid dynamics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal component selection and
system integration.
💰 Cost Reduction & Manufacturability
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through material optimization, design
simplification, and process improvements.
- Support DFM/DFA reviews and implement design changes based on manufacturing
feedback.
- Work closely with suppliers to evaluate alternate components and manufacturing
techniques.
- Ensure designs are scalable for mass production while maintaining performance and
quality.
Reliability & Field Failure Analysis
- Lead reliability testing and validation of rotary compressors under various operating
conditions.
- Conduct root cause analysis of field failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a failure mode database and contribute to reliability growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with quality and service teams to monitor field performance and drive
continuous improvement.
🚀 Innovation & Technology Development
- Research emerging technologies and refrigerants relevant to rotary compressor design.
- Contribute to patent filings, technical papers, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Participate in global benchmarking and technology scouting to maintain competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, Mechatronics, or
related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in rotary compressor design and development, preferably in
refrigeration or HVAC.
- Strong understanding of compressor mechanics, thermodynamics, acoustics, and
vibration.
- Proficiency in CAD, understanding of FEA, CFD, and simulation tools.
- Experience with motor integration and inverter control systems.
- Proven track record in field failure analysis and reliability engineering.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with eco-friendly refrigerants and energy-efficient compressor technologies.
- Knowledge of global standards (IEC, ISO, UL) for compressor performance and safety.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
