1. A solid is in the shape of a cone surmounted on a hemisphere. The radius of each of them being
3.5 cm and the total height of the solid is 9.5 cm. Find the volume of the solid. (3)

2. Find the values of k for which the equation ( 3K + 1 )X2 + 2 ( K + 1 ) X + 1 has equal roots. Also find
the roots. (2)

3. If 2x – 5 ≤ 5x + 4 < 29 and x is an integer, then find the solution set of x. (3)

4. A boy, flying a kite with a string of 90 m long, which is making an angle θ with the ground. Find
the height of the kite. (Given tan ϴ = 45/8 ). ( 2)

12. Consider the following distribution of daily wages of 50 workers of a factory. (3)

Find the mean daily wages of the workers of the factory by using an appropriate
method.

13. From the top of a tower 100m high, a person observes that the angle of elevation
of the top of another tower is 60° and the angle of depression of the bottom of the
tower is 30°. Then find the height of second tower. (3)

14. Prove: 3x2=6
