School Fire Safety Check

Can you obtain a copy of the schools fire safety documents? (If so include a photocopied version in the appendix) How many fire extinguishers did you find in the school? Where were these fire extinguishers located? Yes I can I ask the receptionist and they gave me a copy of the school fire safety documents. I have found 36 around the school. Science block. Library. Math block. Hull. Sports department. Canteen. Art and Exclusion room. English block. Photocopy room. Ict and tech block. Reception. 6th from room. Only tech rooms and science block, because those locations have to most hazard and flammable equipment that can easily be set on fire. 18 All of the fire exits door are open and should be open at all time in case if theres any fire. From looking through the records, I have asked the receptionist to find out how roughly it takes to evacuate the school is 5 minutes. The line up from each year 7-11 + 6th from, the line up in alphabetical order A-Z each tutor call out names from each year. Only the major big fires are in the boys toilet, the kitchen canteen and the photocopy room. There are fire blanket in the food tech room. The receptionists have to call the fire services if there a fire going on in the school. Buildings fitted with a "Fire - Break Glass Alarm" allow occupants to activate the fire alarm and alert the fire brigade easily. The red panel on the wall houses a small button that when depressed will contact the Fire

Was there a high concentration of fire extinguishers located anywhere in the school? How many fire exits are their in the school? Were all of the fire door open? (i.e. none were locked) Can you find out how long it usually takes to evacuate the school? What are the schools evacuation procedures, for example are pupils registered where do they line up? Have there been any recorded fires in the school, if so what happened? What other fire safety equipment is located within the school? Are the emergency services contacted automatically or does a member of staff need to phone the emergency services? Can you explain how an automatic fire safety system works?

The glass or Perspex material is easy to break with your fist, elbow or a pen. Smashing the glass will sometimes activate the button automatically. 1. There are only one fire exit door in the math black also the art and English department. 2. There are no fire extinguishers in the boys toilet. 3. 4. How could these fire safety hazards be remedied? 1. Build more fire exit to prevent fire hazards 2. There was an incident in the boys toilet, to prevent that to happen again, put one or two fire extinguishers in boys toilet. 3. 4. Overall how safe from a fire accident do you think the school is? 80/100
