Data Network Installation for School

The document describes a project to install a data network in a primary school with three buildings. Distribution cabinets will be installed on each floor to provide internet access and share resources. The access network will connect the work areas in each building through structured Cat-6 cabling, while the vertical network will interconnect the cabinets of the three buildings. The project follows ANSI/TIA standards for the design and management of data networks in buildings.

DESCRIPTIVE MEMO - DATA NETWORK INSTALLATION

1. GENERALITIES

In the present project, the data access facilities are developed through
Structured wired networks of the Primary Educational Institution N° 10228 'ELINA'
VINCES LLANOS - located in the locality of Granja Sasape, in the District of Túcume,
Lambayeque Province and Lambayeque Department.

For the project, the following data network structure in the modules is considered
new, in which it is considered to interconnect with the aim of sharing services of
data

As horizontal or access cabling

It has been considered to establish a distribution cabinet on each floor of each pavilion.

Acquisition of furniture: tables and chairs for students, desk and chair for teachers, cabinets,
tables for library.
Acquisition of equipment: Wall and rack cabinets, organizers, patch panels, switch
access, power rack, flat plates, Jack, rosettes, UTP data cables and pass-through cords, for the
implementation of the wiring in each of the environments of the three pavilions.
2. SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The project includes the design of structured data cabling in the areas in the
interiors of the modules of each pavilion, and the vertical wiring that interconnects the
wiring for access to the three buildings of the Educational Institution. Likewise, there is no
consider interconnection and the rehabilitation or maintenance of the constructions
existing. For the present project, the installation of the cabinets has been considered.
wall-mounted located as detailed in the electrical plans. The project has been
developed based on the Architecture Plans.

3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SCHOOL DATA WIRING:

Access network
The I.E. currently does not have a wired network that provides services or
applications in technological tools. For the implementation of the cabling of
data in the present project will be carried out considering Cat.6 cabling with a
bandwidth of 250 MHz, which will allow speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
The access cabling will be carried out for each pavilion, which will have
a wall cabinet from where it will be distributed to the different work areas and
corresponding access points.
The access switches must be for the case of the Pedagogical Innovation classrooms of 48.
ports, and 24 ports for the classrooms.

b) Red Vertical

The vertical network will be responsible for connecting the six cabinets of the three pavilions for the
Boxes will be enabled at each output of the cabinets. The cabinets must
being 8 RU for the Pedagogical Innovation classrooms and 6 RU for
the classrooms.
Each cabinet must contain a Rack, which houses a power strip.
power supply (power Rack), a pass panel, a horizontal organizer
and a switch.
6. PARAMETERS CONSIDERED
a) Transmission speeds 10, 100, 1000 Mbps
supported

b) Bandwidth of the medium 250 MHz minimum

8. CODE AND REGULATIONS

All work will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the applicable sections.
to the following Codes or Regulations:

ANSI EIA/TIA 568-B and C standard that determines behavior

of the transmission media to be used in commercial buildings.
ANSI EIA/TIA 569-B standard that provides guidelines and recommendations for the
implementation of routes, spaces, and locations of the means and equipment of
communication.
ANSI EIA/TIA standards that provide regulations for good
cable management in commercial buildings.

IEC standards and other applicable to the project

9. TESTS

Before the installation of the active communication equipment, testing will be conducted.
conductivity to each of the access points in the network.
Once the communication and computing equipment is installed, the process will proceed to carry out the
communication tests at the upper layer levels, presentation and application with
online chat tools on local network.
Once the internet service is installed, the access speeds will be measured in
the different areas of the I.E. using a speed measurement tool
online streaming.
10. JUSTIFYING CALCULATIONS

a) File transfer calculations.

The formula will be used

T = Tm/AB

T = tiempo de transferencia
Tm = tamaño del archivo
AB = ancho de banda

This formula for calculating data transmission time

Applying the formula transfer time = file size / bandwidth

from the band (T=Tm/AB), a network administrator can estimate several of the
important components of network performance.
