What is a set of preventers (BOP
Stack)?
It is a set of two or more BOPs used to ensure pressure control
a well. A typical stack can consist of one to six arrester type preventers and,
optionally, one or two ring-type protectors.
The work pressures are
from 2,000 psi to 15,000
psi.
The BOP stack is installed in the
wellhead.
What is a burst preventer?
A blowout preventer is a large valve installed in
the upper end of a well, which can be closed if the brigade of
drilling loses control of formation fluids.
Ring preventer
The annular preventer is designed to seal around different sizes or
diameters of drilling pipe, drill collars, tubing
work, etc.
The annular preventer consists of a body, a head, a piston, and a unit of
rubber packaging.
Aire preventers.
They are used as surface control in a well, to seal the space.
to annul when there is piping inside or to close it completely.
Of diameter over measure:
This type of pipe ram is used to seal the
annular space encompassed between the exterior of the
production or working pipe and the diameter
interior of the preventer when there is a signal of
fluids in the well.
Blind:
They are used to completely close the well, as it does not
having piping inside it and that by the
manifestation of the fluid that is present, not be
possible to introduce it.
• Of cut:
Its function is to cut the pipe of
production or work and completely close the
well. It is made up of a lower ram and another
superior, the upper hammer houses the packing of
the blades making a hermetic seal to
time to cut the pipe.

BOP Control Panel.
Accumulator.
High pressure pipes.
Accumulator control levers.
Stranglers
Throttle manifold.
Mud and gas separator, burner line
and burner.
BOPs control panel.
Allows the operator to open and close
quickly the preventers and
other valves of the system.
It is usually located in the
floor of the tower, near the
perforator.
Accumulator
The accumulator tanks
they store hydraulic fluid at pressures
up to 3,000 psi.
The fluid ensures that the protectors do
open or close.
The accumulator has levers of
emergency that they control
preventers.
High pressure pipes
When the preventers are
activated, fluid is pumped
hydraulic through the pipes of
high pressure on the preventer.
The hydraulic pressure opens or closes the
preventers.
Multiple throttling collector
The flow arrives through the line of
strangulation, directly from the BOPs.
It has two or more valves, only one is
USA, leaving the rest of the reserve.
Helps to adjust the well pressure to
prevent more outbreaks.
Sludge and gas separator, burner line, and burner.
It is used to separate both fluids from
drilling like the fluids of
gas formation.
When the gas is separated, it
transport through the burner line
until the burner to be burned
at a safe distance.
Strangler
A device provided with a hole, used
to control the fluid flow rate or the
downstream system pressure. The
stranglers are available in
various settings for modes of
fixed operations as adjustable (regulable).
Fixed Strangler
Adjustable Strangler
Manually
Adjustable Strangler
A valve generally used in the
well control operations to reduce the
fluid pressure, transitioning from high pressure
existing in the closed well at the pressure
atmospheric. It can be adjusted (open or closed)
to carefully control the fall of
pressure.
The adjustable throttling valves are
made to withstand wear during flow
of high-speed fluids, charged with
solids, close to the elements of restriction or of
sealed.
Fixed Strangler
A device used to control the flow
of fluids through the directing of the
flow through a restriction or an opening
fixed size.
The characteristics of fluids and the
pressure differential existing in the
strangler determines the flow rate to
through a fixed throttling device.
Fixed chokes normally have
a housing with a hole on the inside
to allow the installation or change of
calibrated holes.
Submarine BOPs
The equipment of a subsea BOP includes:
A set of preventers.
A riser.
Flexible or ball joint.
Telescopic joint.
Hose package.
Tensor system.
Guidelines.
Hose package and set of
connectors.
Riser
It is a tube with fittings
special.
Its main function is to serve as
isolation between the BOP and the
platform.
The drill string is
introduce inside the riser.
Telescopic joint/union and joint
flexible
Telescopic union:
Helps to compensate for the
vertical movement of the
platform.
Flexible union.
Reduce the effort of
flexion between the riser and the
BOP.
Tensor system
They supply tension for both the lines of
guide like for the tension lines.
The tensors keep the riser in place.
They help to compensate for the displacement.
vertical.
