Essay
After taking in consideration some of the points which were discussed
about abolishing exams it is clear that there is a huge flaw in the
examination system, which should be solve. The solution may not be to
abolish entirely this system, but there should be some alternatives to this
instead of insisting on a flawed system.
Students should be allowed to enjoy learning; it should be something that
institutions encourage them to do. Today schools are considered a place to
learn and prepare for the future of the students so they can access to better
jobs and have, in the long term, better lives. Yet, it would be better for
schools to be a place where kids and young adults could find their passion,
by learning about fascinating topics such as history, biology, or chemistry.
This is exceedingly difficult now at days, because of the pressure that being
evaluated generates. If it was not for this surely students would have more
passion at learning.
It could be argued that working towards the exam is great way to learn a
subject, but this is not true. Working towards an exam, which many times
are memory tests instead of truly testing the comprehension of the subject.
Intelligence, or even wisdom, is not truly tested, the students that study
more by hard can get better notes than the ones who are struggling to
understand the subject.
This is why a reformation with the system is needed, in order to achieve a
method that can be an occasion for students to show their knowledge
without being such a stress that takes away the joy of the subjects.
