Example: CPU (Central Processing Unit), Monitor, Mouse
Software: A term used to reference applications, scripts, and programs that run on a device. It provides the set of step-by-step instructions.
Examples: Microsoft Word, Google Chrome, Adobe Reader, Photoshop.
Operating System: This is the main program that manages all the other programs loaded on your computer.
Examples: Chrome OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Windows, Linux
Peripheral: An external device that connects to a computer for input or output.
Examples: Keyboard, Mouse, Printer, Flash Drive, Scanner
Word Processing: The creation, input, editing, and formatting of documents and other text using software on a computer.
Examples: Letters, Reports, or memos in Word or Docs
Spreadsheet: A document that is used to organize data into columns and rows. It can perform calculations and create charts and graphs.
Examples: Teacher Gradebook, Monthly Bills

Database: A tool used to collect and organize large amounts of data called records which can be sorted and filtered.
Examples: The VBCPS student population using Access
Multimedia: A combination of text, graphics, sound, and video that is used to create a presentation.
