1. Can you tell us about yourself?
I am a graduate of Secondary Education major in Mathematics from Mindoro State University, and I am
currently taking my Master’s in Education major in Mathematics at Divine Word College of Calapan. I’ve
worked for almost three years as a classroom adviser and subject teacher, where I also took on
administrative duties like record-keeping, encoding, and coordination with students and parents. I’m
reliable, organized, and committed to continuous learning, and I’m now hoping to bring those qualities
into public service.
2. Describe yourself as comprehensively as possible.
I am a patient, dependable, and detail-oriented person. I take my responsibilities seriously and always try
to improve myself, whether through further studies or learning on the job. I may be soft-spoken, but I work
hard, respect deadlines, and value teamwork. I also believe in serving with integrity and doing my tasks to
the best of my ability, even when no one is watching.
Why did you suddenly transition from teaching to administrative work?
While I truly value my experience as a teacher, over time I realized that I also enjoy and have a strength in
doing administrative tasks. In my role as a classroom adviser, I was often in charge of encoding grades,
preparing reports, managing student records, and handling communications—which made me more
interested in the organizational side of work. I saw this opportunity at DOST-MIMAROPA as a chance to
explore a new path in public service where I can still apply the same dedication and skills I developed in
teaching, but in a support role that contributes to the overall system.
2. Why do you want to work at DOST-MIMAROPA?
I admire the work of DOST-MIMAROPA in bringing science, technology, and innovation closer to the
people, especially in rural and underserved areas. I want to be part of that mission and contribute in any
way I can. I see this opportunity not just as a job, but as a meaningful way to serve the region and grow
professionally.
3. What do you know about the duties of an Administrative Aide IV – Human Resource
Management Aide?
Based on the job title, I understand that the role involves supporting the HR office through clerical tasks

administrative tasks as a teacher will help me do these duties efficiently.

DOST plays a key role in promoting science, technology, and innovation in the Philippines. It supports
research and development, offers scholarships, provides technical assistance to local industries, and
implements community-based programs. I also admire how DOST MIMAROPA focuses on regional
development, especially in under-served areas.
4. How do you handle repetitive or routine tasks?
I understand that many administrative tasks are repetitive, but I believe they’re essential to keeping the
office running smoothly. I stay focused by organizing my work and setting small goals throughout the day.
I also take pride in making sure even the smallest tasks are done accurately and on time.
5. Can you describe a time you had to handle confidential information?
As a classroom adviser, I handled student records, grades, and personal concerns, which required a high
level of confidentiality. I always made sure that sensitive information was kept private and only discussed
with authorized individuals. I understand that this level of professionalism is also crucial in HR work.
6. How do you manage multiple tasks or deadlines?
I prioritize by identifying what needs to be done first and setting a clear schedule. I also break bigger tasks
into smaller steps to make them more manageable. During my teaching job, I often had to prepare
lessons, submit reports, and communicate with parents all at the same time, so I’ve learned how to
manage time effectively under pressure.
7. How do you see yourself contributing to the HR office at DOST?
I can assist with clerical and support tasks such as data entry, records organization, and communication.
I also bring patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn—traits that I believe are essential in

Five years from now, I see myself as a more experienced and skilled public servant, hopefully in a stable
government position, contributing meaningfully to the community. I also hope to finish my Master’s
degree and continue growing both professionally and personally.

Yes, I am very much willing. I see every task and training as a chance to grow and become better at my
job. I’m open to learning and taking on responsibilities that will help the team.
9. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
One of my strengths is being organized and dependable. I take deadlines seriously and I make sure my
work is accurate. A weakness I used to have was being shy when speaking in groups, but through teaching
and dealing with students and parents, I’ve slowly gained more confidence in communicating.
10. Do you have any questions for us?
Yes, thank you. I would like to ask—what are the common challenges in this role, and what kind of
support or training does the department provide for new hires?
