3. If the concentration of bromide ions in seawater is 0.40 mol/L, what mass of chlorine
gas would be required to oxidize all of the bromide ions in 3000. L of seawater?

4. A 0.125 mol/L of potassium dichromate solution (whi ch reduces to C r 3 + ) is used


to titrate 10.0 mL of titanium (II) sulfate in an acidic solution, which oxidizes to
titanium (III). The volume of dichromate delivered is outlined in the table below. What
is the average concentration of titanium (II) ions?

5. Fluoride treatments of children’s teeth have been found to significantly reduce tooth
decay. When this was first discovered, toothpastes were produced containing tin (II)

sample of acidified tin (II) fluoride solution prepared for research on toothpaste,
yielding the data below. The tin (II) oxidizes to tin (IV). What is the average
