INTRODUCTION

BEFORE WE MOVE FORWARD, LET ME SHARE A SIMPLE STORY.

THERE WAS ONCE A YOUNG LEARNER WHO STRUGGLED WITH READING. EACH TIME
THE TEACHER ASKED HER TO READ ALOUD, SHE HESITATED, AFRAID OF MAKING
MISTAKES. BUT WITH PATIENCE, PRACTICE, AND ENCOURAGEMENT, SOMETHING
BEAUTIFUL HAPPENED—WORDS THAT ONCE SEEMED LIKE PUZZLES SLOWLY BECAME
FRIENDS. OVER TIME, SHE NOT ONLY LEARNED TO READ BUT ALSO DISCOVERED THE
JOY OF UNDERSTANDING STORIES AND THE CONFIDENCE TO SHARE HER OWN
VOICE.
THIS STORY REMINDS US THAT READING IS MORE THAN JUST A SKILL; IT IS THE KEY
THAT OPENS THE DOOR TO KNOWLEDGE, CONFIDENCE, AND ENDLESS
OPPORTUNITIES. AND THIS IS PRECISELY WHY WE ARE GATHERED HERE TODAY — TO
STRENGTHEN THAT KEY THROUGH THE ARAL-READING PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM
IS NOT JUST ABOUT TEACHING CHILDREN HOW TO READ, BUT ABOUT NURTURING A
LIFELONG LOVE FOR LEARNING, ENSURING THAT NO CHILD IS LEFT BEHIND IN THE
JOURNEY OF LITERACY.
AS WE OPEN OUR PROGRAM, MAY THIS STORY INSPIRE US TO SEE THE POWER OF
READING AND THE VITAL ROLE EACH OF US PLAYS IN MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR OUR
LEARNERS.
