Networking for Hacking – Full Roadmap (1

Hour/Day Plan)

Phase 1: Foundations (Weeks 1–8)

Goal: Understand the basics of networking (OSI, IPs, Ports). Topics: - OSI & TCP/IP models - IP
Addressing (IPv4/IPv6, subnetting) - Ports & Protocols - DNS, DHCP, NAT, ARP - Routing vs
Switching basics Daily 1-Hour Split: - 30 min: Theory (YouTube + Notes) - 30 min: Hands-on
practice (ping, ipconfig, nslookup).

Phase 2: Traffic Analysis & Tools (Weeks 9–16)

Goal: Learn how to inspect traffic & scan networks. Topics: - Packet structure & headers -
Wireshark basics & packet sniffing - Nmap scanning & service detection - Netcat (manual
communication & backdoors) - Tcpdump & simple network analysis Daily 1-Hour Split: - 30 min:
Tutorials/Docs - 30 min: Wireshark & Nmap practice.

Phase 3: Attacks & Exploitation (Weeks 17–24)

Goal: Understand and simulate common attacks. Topics: - MITM attacks (ARP spoofing, SSL
stripping) - DNS spoofing & cache poisoning - Session hijacking & packet injection - Basic firewall
evasion Daily 1-Hour Split: - 30 min: Learning (TryHackMe labs) - 30 min: Practice in virtual labs.

Phase 4: Wireless Networking (Weeks 25–30)

Goal: Learn to attack Wi-Fi networks. Topics: - Wi-Fi protocols (WEP, WPA/WPA2) -
Deauthentication attacks - Evil Twin & fake access points - Captive portal bypass Daily 1-Hour Split:
- 30 min: Theory + YouTube - 30 min: Practice with Aircrack-ng & adapters.

Phase 5: Anonymity & Advanced Networking (Weeks 31–36)

Goal: Stay anonymous & bypass network defenses. Topics: - VPNs & TOR - ProxyChains & SSH
Tunneling - IDS/IPS evasion techniques Daily 1-Hour Split: - 30 min: Configuring VPNs, TOR,
proxies - 30 min: Practice anonymized scans & tunnels.

Phase 6: Real-World Practice (Ongoing)

Goal: Apply everything in real-world labs. Platforms: - TryHackMe: Pre-Security, Network
Fundamentals, Offensive Pentesting - HackTheBox: Starting Point → Easy Machines - VulnHub:
Offline practice Daily 1-Hour Split: - 1 hour: Practice labs only.
