FULL DIALOGUE SCRIPT

SCENE 1 — Courtyard

Annie:
“You look like you’ve been carrying a storm inside you.”

Bella:
(smiles faintly)
“Not a storm… just the same old clouds.”

Annie:
“You’ve been quiet for days.”

Bella:
“Some days just feel… heavier than they should.”

SCENE 2 — David Brings the News

David:
(anxious, breathless)
“Annie… we need to talk. It’s urgent.”

Annie:
“What happened?”

David:
“There was an accident… on the highway. The list changed twice. Rattle’s name… it ended up on the critical
list.”

Annie:
(eyes widening)
“No… no, that can’t be.”

David:
“I’m sorry. I came straight here.”

Annie:
(turning to Bella, kneeling)
“Bella… something happened. It’s Rattle. They’re saying he might not have made it.”

Bella:
(voice hollow)
“What… what do you mean ‘might’?”

Annie:
“We’re not sure yet. Come inside, please.”

SCENE 3 — Bella’s Room (Beginning of Realization)

Annie:
“I’ll be right outside. Just call me if you need anything.”

Bella:
(nods silently) (Door closes. Bella breathes shakily.)
Bella:
(whispers to herself)
“So this is the ending I never imagined… and yet…”

(She stands, walks to the window.)

Bella:
“My heart shouldn’t feel this light. Why does it feel… new?
Why does it feel… free?”

SCENE 4 — Bella’s Emotional Transformation

Bella:
(softly)
“For years, I’ve moved like a shadow in my own life.”

Bella:
(touching the sunlight)
“Maybe this is what breathing feels like when no one is watching.”

Bella:
“Is it wrong… to feel release instead of ruin?”

(She closes her eyes, smiling faintly.)

Bella:
“This one hour… this one breath… feels like the first thing I’ve owned in years.”

SCENE 5 — Rattle Returns

(Door opens suddenly. Annie looks stunned.)

Annie:
“Bella… he’s here.”

Rattle:
(smiling, relieved)
“Bella! I’m okay. I rushed here the moment I got signal.”

David:
“It was a mistake. A reporting error at the site.”

Bella:
(freezes, steps back)
“No… no… this can’t—”

Rattle:
“What? Bella, I’m here. I’m fine.”

Bella:
(shaking)
“You don’t understand. For one hour… I was alive.”

Annie:
“Bella, sit down—You’re shaking.”
Bella:
(voice breaking)
“How do I go back to the life I just escaped?”

(She collapses into Annie’s arms.)

Bella:
(weak whisper)
“Some cages aren’t locked…
We just forget how to walk out.”

FADE OUT.
