Weekly Journal Reflection

(To be filled in by the student weekly)

 Date: February 17-21

 Tasks Completed:
This week started with an election on Monday, resulting in no classes.
However, for the rest of the week, I continued my usual routine of arriving
early to prepare for my lessons. A highlight of the week was trying something
new—using ClassPoint during discussions. My cooperating teacher
demonstrated its application, and it was a great success, making the lessons
more interactive and engaging for the students.
 Skills Applied:
I applied various skills, including lesson preparation, time management, and
assessment facilitation. Observing the use of ClassPoint also helped me
refine my technology integration skills, which will be valuable in future
lessons.
 New Skills Learned:
One new skill I gained this week was conducting my first summative and
performance activity. The entire process, from preparing the assessment to
administering it and evaluating student performance, was a rewarding
experience. I was pleased with the results, as all my students achieved
passing scores, and five of them even got perfect marks. This reaffirmed that
my teaching strategies were effective in helping students grasp the lessons.
 Challenges Encountered:
Fortunately, I did not encounter major challenges this week. I was able to
manage my time efficiently, ensuring that each lesson ended on schedule
without overtime. This helped maintain a smooth and structured flow of
activities throughout the week.
 Reflection on Personal Growth:
This experience reinforced my confidence in handling assessments and
utilizing technology in the classroom. Seeing my students succeed was
fulfilling, and it motivated me to continue improving my teaching methods. It
also encouraged me to explore more digital tools that could enhance student
engagement and learning outcomes.
 Next Steps/Goals for Improvement:
Moving forward, my goal is to integrate ClassPoint into my own lessons and
further explore innovative teaching methods. I aim to keep lessons interactive
and continue refining my assessment techniques to ensure that all students
have opportunities to excel.
