3.1 UPSC conducted 11 examinations – 7 for 2004-05 as against 14 examinations held in the
recruitment to Civil Services/ Posts and 4 for corresponding previous year.

3.4.1 The Commission conduct interviews only
for the Civil Services/ Posts. In respect of Candidates Recommended
Defence Services, the examination results are

3.8.1 The final results of the Civil Services 2003 489 167 81

3.8.5 The number of candidates who opted for

Shuffling of applications

3.10.4 In order to avoid allotment of consecutive

roll numbers in case of application forms received
in serial order, the Receipt and Facilitation & Dak
Counter Sections have introduced a system of
shuffling of applications.

3.10.5 During the period under report, the

Commission did not notify Indian Economic
Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination,
2004 and Geologists Examination, 2004 because
of insufficient number of vacancies.
