Project Proposal: Payroll System
Background
The Payroll System project is being undertaken to automate and simplify the process of managing
employee salary payments within an organization. Manual payroll processing often leads to
miscalculations, time delays, and data inconsistency. This project aims to eliminate such challenges
by creating a computerized system that enhances accuracy, efficiency, and record management.
The system will also support compliance with statutory obligations such as tax, pension, and social
security deductions while maintaining transparency for both employees and administrators.
Objectives
• To design and implement a computerized payroll system that automates salary computations and
deductions.
• To generate accurate employee payslips and management reports efficiently.
• To ensure timely salary payments and secure storage of payroll data.
• To reduce human error and workload through automation.
Scope
The Payroll System will cover all major activities involved in payroll management, including:
Employee registration and information management, salary computation (basic pay, allowances,
deductions, bonuses), generation of payslips and payroll summaries, data security, user
authentication, and database backup features.
Phases of Work:
System Analysis and Requirements Gathering.
System Design and Development.
System Testing, Implementation,Maintenance and User Training.
