Objectives of the Workshop

The main objectives of the workshop were:

 To understand the legal significance of evidence in criminal law and its admissibility
under the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
 To familiarise participants with the various divisions of Forensic Science Laboratories
(FSLs) and their specific roles.
 To learn the systematic approach to crime scene investigation, from securing the area
to packaging and forwarding evidence.
 To comprehend the legal and procedural documentation involved in forwarding
evidence to FSLs.
 To explore the presentation of forensic evidence in court, including the role of expert
testimony.
