SDR Group's 150W HF Linear Amplifier

This article describes the construction of a linear HF amplifier of 50 to 150 watts operating from 10 to 160m. The amplifier uses IRFZ24N Mosfet transistors and can deliver up to 150 watts on 80-160m and up to 60 watts on 10-15m with an excitation of 3 to 5 watts. The document contains details on the electronic schematic, component layout, and printed circuit board construction.

THE CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE SDR GROUP OF THE BLUE LINE

EXTRA-STRONG LINEAR AMPLIFIER

From 50 to 150 watts HF from 10 to 160m
Special SDR or multi-band BINGO STAR

By F6BCU

This new low-cost linear amplifier has exceptional performance;

operates from 1 to 30 MHz, while delivering a useful power output of interest across all the
bands. In relation to the price of the transistors used, low voltage Mosfets IRFZ24N (55V)
whose price varies from 1 to 1.50 euros depending on the retailer, the amplifier set is
really cheap. This does not prevent obtaining the following powers:

150 watts HF from 80 to 160 m, excitation 2 watts HF, 14.5V–18 to 20A

90 to 110 watts HF from 30 to 40m, excitation 2 to 3 watts HF, 14.5 V–13 to 15 A
70 to 80 W HF from 17 at 20m, excitation 3 to 4 watts HF, 14.5V–10 to 12A
40 to 60 W HF from 10 to 15 m, excitation 3 to 4 watts HF, 14.5V–8 to 10 A

To obtain a usable uniform excitation of 3 to 5 watts HF 1 to 30 MHz, you

TECHNICAL COMMENT
The excellent results previously obtained with the STRONG amplifier and a push pull

It was deplorable, impossible to exceed 100 watts HF on 80 m.

But there was certainly a way to increase the efficiency and output power and
Through experimentation, we found the solution.

There is a technique during wideband amplification from 1 to 30 MHz which consists of

we had the best HF results.
