1. Project Presentation
The project aims to design a new stretch of road at a site according to the plan shown here.
jointly and with a view to connecting two locations with coordinates A (476230; 185090) and C (478500;
The layout must comply with the Moroccan standard of category REFT as well as the Cross-Section Profile.
2. The data necessary for the geometric design of the proposed road:
We first have a scaled plan at a 1/1000 scale on a digital file.
in DWG format (AutoCad) that contains the geometric data of the project as well as the
constraints that one might encounter.
The geometric design of the projected road will follow the rules recommended in the REFT.
Low Traffic Economic Routes.
FUNDAMENTAL STANDARDS FOR PLAN TRACE AND LONGITUDINAL PROFILE:
The plan layout and the longitudinal profile will meet the minimum standards outlined below:
1

There will necessarily be a straight alignment of a certain length between two circular curves.
minimum of 20 meters, regardless of their radii and regardless of the same direction
or in opposite directions.

CURRENT SECTION:
For the case of our project, it is a transverse profile of type '4 m+2x2'.
Moreover, for roads supporting traffic close to the maximum of 150 V/d whose quality
the plan and profile drawing allows us to anticipate what they will be later
widened without notable modification to the layout, we can accept: 4.00m of roadway + 2 x
2.00m of shoulder.
When there is a coincidence between a connection, either protruding or recessed, and a curve in plan
with a radius of 30m or less, i.e. that the top of the connection is located on the
curve, it may be used with a radius smaller than the minimums below, lowered
up to 350m in protruding connection and 200m in recessed connection.

In order to trace our path, we introduced the data from the Excel file using the
following method:

The report is accompanied by a file containing all the calculations of the slopes in all
the profiles, as well as the interpolation of the terrain.
This is why we created a new diversion table that contains the REFT standards.
Table of Turns:
Track displays the calculated cant values for each of the profiles of which here is one
example of a few profiles:

The details of the long profile axis are illustrated in the table:
15
Project track 2016/2017
We define the cross-section profile that we want to apply to our road by specifying the width.
of the road, the shoulders and the embankments and excavations.
16

The construction of cross sections from the standard cross section is carried out in
applying it to every point of the road axis.
The application of the profile can reveal design errors, leaving the boundaries of the land.
for example; the software in this case notifies the user of the need to perform
changes in the layout.
In the case where no errors are detected, we obtain the profiles across several
road points.
