Good morning, everyone.

I'm Samantha, your moderator for today's market research interview on

healthcare preferences. Let's start by introducing ourselves. Could you please state your names?

I'm Jason.

I'm Layla.

Great! Today we'll discuss your experiences with healthcare services focusing on diagnostics and
treatment plans. Jason, can you share your last experience with a medical procedure?

Sure. I had an MRI scan last month for my lower back pain. The doctor said it was due to a herniated
disc, but the whole process was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

OK, thank you. Layla, have you had any similar experiences?

Yeah, I've had to deal with chronic migraines. My Neurologist prescribed some new medication, but the
side effects were a real C’est La Vie moment for me.

Could you elaborate on those side effects, Layla?

Well, one of them was nausea, and the other was a bit of Aphasia, which made conversations quite
confusing. I remember asking the nurse for a glass of water, and it came out sounding like a glass of
otter, which didn't help with communication.

That could certainly be challenging. Jason, has there ever been a time when medical jargon or
procedures confused you?

Absolutely. When they talked about my MRI results, they mentioned degenerative changes and
osteoarthritis. I barely understood half of it. It felt like they were speaking a different language all
together.
Layla, how do you feel about the explanations given by your healthcare providers?

It varies. Some doctors are excellent at breaking down complex medical terms into layman's terms, but
others seem to speak in an all-or-nothing manner, either too simple or too complex.

All-or-nothing. That's a good way to put it. Alright, to wrap up, what would you both say is the most
crucial aspect of healthcare communication for you?

Clarity. I need to understand what's happening with my body and what the treatment options are.

Empathy. It's not just about explaining things, it's also about understanding what the patient's going
through.
