Many young people choose to go to university and study academic

subjects. This is important because higher education gives students


knowledge and opens doors to many professions. However, I believe that
vocational training is also necessary, and more people should be
encouraged to follow this path.

There are two main reasons why more vocationally-trained workers are
needed. First of all, electricians, plumbers and other skilled workers play a
vital role in society. For example, when schools, hospitals or museums are
built, or when they need maintenance, these workers make sure the
buildings are safe for the public. Another reason is that in some countries
there are too many academic graduates, which leads to graduate
unemployment. In contrast, people with practical skills are often in high
demand.

To meet society’s needs, more vocational training should be provided.


Schools could make changes to their curriculum and include workshops
that teach students useful practical skills. In addition, parents should also
guide their children to consider learning a trade, because it is a good
alternative to university and can offer stable job opportunities once they
qualify.

In conclusion, while academic study at university is valuable, vocational


training is equally important. For a balanced workforce, young people
should be encouraged to choose the path that suits their skills and the
needs of society.
