MRI LUMBAR SPINE WIT HOUT CONT RAST 19N

Clinical History:
History: Back pain for 1 year radiating to both legs, associated with numbness. Pain is more intense in the morning

Technique:
Multi-planar multi-echo MRI of lumbosacral spine done.

Reports:
Lumbar vertebrae are normal in height.
Posterior elements are intact. Ligamentum flavum is normal.
Mild focal central disc bulge noted at D12/L1 level causing indentation of thecal sac, however, normal lateral recess
and foramina.
At L2/3 level diffuse disc bulge causing indentation of thecal sac with mild narrowing of lateral recess.
At L4/5 level Diffuse disc bulge causing indentation of thecal sac and mild thinning of both lateral recess and foramina
more marked on left side. There is also narrowing of spinal canal
Rest of the lumbar vertebrae are normal with well hydrated discs and no evidence of any remarkable disc bulge or
herniation.
Lower thoracic cord and conus appear normal.

IMPRESSION:
Partial disc desiccatory changes with associated mild disc bulges more marked at L2/3 and L4/5 level
causing indentation of thecal sac and mild thinning of lateral recess as described.
