I worked on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response. The facility had reported several
positive COVID-19 cases among residents and staff, and the situation was rapidly escalating. I was part
of the response team deployed to the facility to contain the outbreak. I quickly assess together with the
team the facility’s infection control practices and implement emergency measures to prevent further
transmission. We conduct rapid testing for all residents and staff, and conduct contact tracing to
identify individuals who had close contact with positive cases and directly we notify the local health
authorities, including the health department and infectious disease control team, to ensure a coordinated
response.

16. What is your experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software?
My experience as a public health nurse with electronic health records is all about clinical
documentation, data analysis and reporting, population health management to track and manage
population health metrics, such as vaccination rates and disease prevalence. Also, by using
electronic health records I can share patient’s data with other healthcare providers, laboratories,
and public health agency, and quality improvement and research to track patient outcomes and
satisfaction.
17. How do you stay organized and manage your time effectively during shifts?
I stay organized by using planner or calendar, label and organize patient’s charts, I store
frequently used supplies in easy-to-reach locations and by maintaining my workspace clean and
clutter free. To manage my time effectively, I do pre-shift preparation such as reviewing the
patient’s charts, check the schedules for patient’s assignments, medications, and upcoming
procedures.

During my shift, I cared for an 55 - year-old patien, admitted with pneumonia. She was
experiencing severe shortness of breath, anxiety, and confusion. I quickly assessed the patient’s
condition and notified the physician, who ordered oxygen therapy and medication to alleviate the
symptoms. I took the time to listen to patient’s concerns, provided reassurance, and explained her
treatment plan in a way that was easy for her to understand. I involved the patient’s family in her
care, keeping them informed about her condition and treatment plan, and providing emotional
support to them as well. I worked closely with the pain management team to ensure the patient’s
pain was well-controlled, using non-pharmacological interventions such as deep breathing
