PRESENT SIMPLE

Usos del presente simple

1 Verdades generales:

-Human beings need oxygen to live


2 Acciones habituales o también conocidas como rutinas:

-I usually call my parents at night


3 Estados permanentes:

-My sister works for an international company.

Reglas y oraciones de ejemplo del presente simple en inglés

-Para el afirmativo usamos el verbo en su forma base (read, play, live)


I sometimes read scientific articles.

-Para el negativo se utiliza el auxiliar DON’T/ DOESN´T + verbo en forma base.

I don’t read scientific articles


-Para el interrogativo usamos el auxiliar DO/DOES.

Do you read scientific articles?

• Afirmativa:
• I eat. (Yo como.)

• You eat. (Tú comes. / Ustedes comen.)


• He eats. (Él come.)

• She eats. (Ella come.)

• It eats. (Eso come. - se refiere a animales o cosas.)


• We eat. (Nosotros comemos.)

• They eat. (Ellos comen.)


• Negativa:
• I don't eat. (Yo no como.)
• You don't eat. (Tú no comes.)
• He doesn't eat. (Él no come.)
• She doesn't eat. (Ella no come.)
• It doesn't eat. (Eso no come.)
• We don't eat. (Nosotros no comemos.)
• They don't eat. (Ellos no comen.)
• Interrogativa:
• Do I eat? (¿Como yo?)
• Do you eat? (¿Comes tú?)
• Does he eat? (¿Come él?)
• Does she eat? (¿Come ella?)
• Does it eat? (¿Come eso?)
• Do we eat? (¿Comemos nosotros?)
• Do they eat? (¿Comen ellos?

REGLAS PARA AÑADIR -S O -ES

Añadir -S Una consonante (menos s, z, sh, ch o x) EJEMPLO


talk + s = talks
Una vocal + la letra y play + s = plays
La letra e take + s = takes
Dos vocales juntas see+s= sees
Añadir -ES La(s) letra(s) s, z, sh, ch o x watch + es = watches
Una sola vocal que no es e go + es = goes
Una consonante más la letra y try - y + i + es = tries

USOS PRINCIPALES

1. Acciones que están ocurriendo en este momento:

Ejemplo: I am studying English right now.


2. Acciones temporales:

Ejemplo: She is living in New York for a few months.


3. Contrasta con el Present Simple, que se usa para hábitos o rutinas permanentes.

ESTRUCTURA DEL PRESENT CONTINUOUS


-AFIRMATIVA Sujeto + verbo "to be" + verbo principal con terminación -ing

Ejemplo: He is eating.
-NEGATIVA Sujeto + verbo "to be" + not + verbo principal con terminación -ing

Ejemplo: I am not working.

-INTERROGATIVA Verbo "to be" + sujeto + verbo principal con terminación -ing?
Ejemplo: Are they watching TV?
