Graduates of Electronics and Communication Engineering Will:

Preamble : This course covers key electromagnetic theory and practical simulation techniques using
tools like HFSS and CST. Students will design antennas and RF circuits, analyze EMC
issues, and explore advanced topics such as metamaterials and optimization methods for
real-world EM applications.

Unit-1 Electromagnetic Theory and Numerical Methods Contact Hours: 9
Electromagnetic Fundamentals: Review of electromagnetic theory, including Maxwell's equations and
boundary conditions.
Numerical Methods in EM: Introduction to numerical methods used in EM simulation, such as Finite
Element Method (FEM), Method of Moments (MoM), and Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD).

EM Simulation Software: Hands-on training with popular EM simulation tools like HFSS/ CST Studio.

patch antennas, dipole antennas, and horn antennas.
RF Circuit Simulation: Simulation of RF circuits, including filters, amplifiers, and mixers.
