Route surveying Lab1
a) By perpendicular offset or ordinate from long chord
NB: Make a group of five members in each group and use the data as follows
Suppose a simple circular curve with intersection angle and radios of the curve for each group is given as (G1, G2.G3,
G4, G5, G6, 1400, 1300, 1200, 1500, 1700, 1600, and radios of 200m, 150 m, 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 250 m respectively is
to be set out by method of perpendicular offset from long chord at 10m peg interval. Calculate all necessary data to set
out the curve?
To set out the curve
Fix PC and PT based on the length of long chord
Divided the long chord into even number of equal parts.
Mark the middle point of the long chord
Calculate the middle ordinate(M)
Mark the middle ordinate(M) at perpendicular to the middle ordinate
Measure the distance of middle ordinate towards the curve
Mark the middle point of the curve
Calculate all offsets at the given interval as X1=10,X2=20 etc
Mark all offsets from the long chord to towards the curve at perpendicular and mark at the curve point
