RE: DEFENSIVE DRIVING – THE DRIVING IMPROVEMENT COURSE
AA Tanzania has introduced Defensive Driving Course under expert Trainers.
It is evident from our drivers that most motorists are not intentionally dangerous. They want to be
safe drivers and interact well with other road users but, they lack the right knowledge, understanding
of risks involved in driving, skills, attitude or motivation to do so.
This attitude can only be changed by provision of further training opportunities in addition to the
basic one provided at the initial stages of learning “how to drive”, if the driver had such opportunity
to do so.
AA defensive driving course is an opportunity for such advance driver training. It equips drivers with
proper understanding of driving attitude, road risks during interaction with other road users vis a vis
the handling of own car on the roads. It is essential for all organization which value road safety as a
key ingredient of their operations. Defensive driving helps to ensure maximum safety for employees,
protection of company fleet and gives organizations the confidence that its employees have the
required driving skills.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Company employees (who drive company cars), company drivers, individual motorists/ drivers,
institutional drivers long & short distance Truck drivers and all motorist in general.
COURSE CONTENTS
The course comprises full defensive Drivers Course for 4 days.
The course comparison of three elements of concern or focus.
1. Philosophy of Defensive Driving
2. The practice of Defensive Driving
3. Road craft for defensive drivers
- Training vehicle to be provided by the client.
- All combine into one for four days of Intensive Defensive Driving stints
WHAT WILL BE THE EXPECTED RESULTS?
After going through the course, the following are the expected results:-
Employers have more confidence in driving ability of their staff
Greatly reduces chance of being involved in an accident/ crash.
Reduce time off work due to injuries, hospitalization etc.
Less down time on vehicle due to repairs/ damage, improved fuel consumption, less wear and
tear on mechanical components in general thus extended economical life of a vehicle.
Minimize risk of being hijacked and reduce Insurance claims.
Improved discipline on the road
TIMINGS
9:30am – 3:30pm with one hr lunch break or timing as per the choice of the client. However
weekends will be more preferred depending on nature of operations.
Mode of delivery
Presentations by experienced AA Instructors coupled with power point presentation, Video shows
and training materials prepared from practical experiences on the road at the client premises or at a
designated venue.
Language: Both English and Kiswahili
TRAINING FEES & OTHER INFORMATION
Minimum 5 – 15 student
Training can be organized at clients place.
At Hotel, extra at cost will be charged for venue b’fast, Lunch & other equipments.
Training outside DSM, transport & food, accommodation/ per diem will be charged
(Transport will depend on mode of Transport) for the instructor.
In the event of training taking place in a Hotel, food accommodation and transport shall be
negotiated separately.
Rate per student Trainee TZS 200,000/=
