1.

Objectives
The main goal of our project is to create an AI-based timetable generator that reduces manual
effort and errors. It aims to improve resource use, avoid class clashes, balance teacher workloads,
and allow quick updates when changes happen.

2. Literature Survey
We studied different research papers on automated timetable generation. Most used AI and
genetic algorithms to solve scheduling problems. The findings showed that AI helps reduce
conflicts, saves time, and makes scheduling more flexible and scalable compared to manual
methods.

3. Proposed Work
Our system will gather requirements like teacher availability, classrooms, and rules. Using
intelligent algorithms, it will automatically generate conflict-free timetables. We will build a user-
friendly interface, add real-time updates, and test the system with actual data before deployment.

4. Requirements

 Hardware: Minimum Intel i3, 4GB RAM, and 250GB storage; recommended i5 or higher
with 8–16GB RAM.

 Software: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, React for the frontend; Python with Django for
backend; MySQL for database; and GitHub for version control. Cloud platforms like AWS or
Azure can be used for deployment.

1. Objectives
Our project aims to create an AI-based timetable generator to reduce manual work and errors. It
ensures fair teacher workloads, avoids class clashes, and saves time for administrators.

2. Literature Survey
We referred to research papers where AI and genetic algorithms were used for timetable generation.
These studies proved that AI makes scheduling faster, conflict-free, and more flexible compared to
manual methods.

3. Proposed Work
We will collect requirements like teacher availability, classrooms, and rules. Then, using AI
algorithms, the system will automatically create optimized timetables with a user-friendly interface
and real-time updates.

4. Requirements
Minimum setup is i3 processor, 4GB RAM, and basic storage. Recommended setup is i5 or above with
/8–16GB RAM, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python-Django, and MySQL for development.
For our literature survey, we studied different research papers on timetable generation.

Most of them used artificial intelligence and genetic algorithms to solve scheduling problems. They
showed that AI can make timetables automatically, avoid class clashes, balance teacher workloads,
and save a lot of time compared to manual methods.

Some papers focused on flexibility, where the system can quickly adjust if a teacher is absent or a
classroom is unavailable. Others highlighted scalability, showing that these solutions work well for
both small and large institutions.

Overall, the research proved that AI-based timetable generators are faster, more accurate, and more
adaptable than traditional manual scheduling. This inspired us to design our own project using
similar ideas.
