division of functions. D. Quick “kumustahan” mental/emotional
2. Determine the steps in check
multiplying and dividing
the functions. I. RECALL
3. Solve problems The teacher will ask the following questions:
involving operations of 1. What is a similar term.
functions. 2. What are the steps in adding and subtracting
functions?

II. MOTIVATION
The teacher will ask the following questions:
1. As an IDSCian what is the importance of
following the rules and regulations in our school?
2. What is the significance of law or rules in our
society?
III. DISCUSSION OF CONCEPTS
A. The teacher will review about the different law of
exponents. The teacher will let the students watch
a video on the law of exponents.

 What is the importance of studying the law of

exponents?

B. The teacher will conduct an activity where in the

students will solve algebraic expressions and
determine the law of exponents used in solving.
(20 items)

Solve Law of Exponents

Applied

C. The teacher will introduce and discuss the

definition of the product and quotient of a
function.
D. The teacher will discuss the process of
multiplying and dividing functions. Illustrate
examples following the steps and let the
students answer on the board guided by the
teacher. Give more examples for better
understanding.
*While teaching the process on multiplying
and dividing functions, conduct a review on
Distributive Property, FOIL method and Factoring.

IV. DEVELOPING MASTERY

The teacher will conduct a boardwork
activity where the students will multiply and
divide functions.

V. APPLICATION AND GENERALIZATION.

The teacher will illustrate a word problem where
operations on function can be applied:
- What is the number of males in Barangay Pandan
t years since 2000 when f(t) represents the number of
females and g(t) represents the number of people in the
barangay?
Solution: g(t)-f(t), the number of people in the
barangay minus the number of females is equal to the
males in the barangay.
Process questions:
- What operation of function is applied in the
situation?
- Let’s say you are a social worker, how does
function help you in determining the population in your
barangay?

Generalization
 What are the different law of exponents?
 What is/are the significance of reviewing the topics
on law of exponents, multiplication and division of
polynomials and factoring?
 What are the steps in multiplying and dividing
functions?

VI. EVALUATION
The teacher will conduct a quiz on adding and subtracting
functions.
Quiz No. 2

and h(x)=3x3+1
1. (f+g)(x)
2. (ℎ+g)(x)
3. (f−g)(x)
Part 2 Multiply or divide the Functions.
