Introduction

This paper deals with basic configuration procedures and


operation of HUAWEI routers.

They are basic procedures, but indispensable for the success of a


activation or alteration activity with the client, avoiding failure,
undesirable situation as it brings financial losses, damage to image and
devastatingly motivational to the mutual business sphere.

We want to alert the technician that good understanding, assimilation and


the application of the information contained in this document will bring great
conquests for all.

Who it is intended for

This work is aimed at all field technicians who participate in the


Activation and Change of network settings for Embratel customers
to all professionals who interact directly or indirectly with
such activity.

Course objectives:

- Familiarize the technician with the Standard Script;


- Enhance your skills in operating Huawei routers;
- Practice the update of VRP;
- Practice password cracking on Huawei routers;
- Extract useful information from the router through some commands from
diagnosis

For Activation / Deactivation / Change activities it is essential that the


the technician should be equipped with the following equipment and software, thus avoiding
setbacks, damage to the image of the coach, as well as to the companies involved.

ACCESS COMMAND LEVELS

0 = Visitante
1 = Monitoring
2 = Configuration
3 = Advanced Full Management.

SYSTEM-VIEW

Enter the router's configuration mode.

DISPLAY VERSION

Check the VRP version on the Router


Check the amount of RAM and FLASH memory on the Router.
Check the number of interfaces existing on the Router.
Check the version of the Hardware components of the Router

DISPLAY STARTUP

Displays the name of the VRP

DISPLAY CURRENT-CONFIGURATION

Check the active configuration on the Router, but do not save.

VRP UPDATE VIA FTP HUAWEI 29XX

1- Access FTP server


2- <HUAWEI> FTP SERVER IP
3- Authenticate with the requested username and password
4- User: EBT
5- Password: EBT
6- Download the VRP = GET NAME OF [Link]

BREAK THE CONSOLE ACCESS PASSWORD

Turn on the Router


Ctrl + B to access the boot menu
Option 6 - Ignore System Configuration
Option A or 0 – reboot

From this point, the router will initialize disregarding the file with the configuration.
of the client (without the passwords) contained in the CF (Flash), thus providing default access to

Follow the steps below to reconfigure the new password while preserving the client's configuration!

1-In the router prompt use the command screen length disable to prevent
pagination.
2-Execute the command display saved-configuration
3-Select all the configuration, copy and paste it into a notepad, wordpad file.
or another text editor and save it on your desktop.
4-Still in the text editor locate the lines:
local-user 'type the new user'
Type the new password
5- On the router prompt, enter configuration mode by typing system view
6-Copy/Paste the new script to the router, now the router operates in Real-time with the
client configuration but with the new password.
7-Save as [Link]
save [Link] confirm with 'yes'
[huawei]quit you CTRL +Z
reboot confirm with 'yes'

The following procedure will be necessary if the VRP is corrupted.


In this case, the Huawei router will display the screens below, just follow the sequence
below for router loading via tftp / ETH 0

On the PC, configure the TFTP: point to the directory where the VRP is located:

3- Connect the crossover cable (PC x Router ETH0)
