Environmental Greetings!
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Hyasinth S. Perocho, and
I am a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science student at Davao Oriental State
University. I am writing this letter to request your permission and support for conducting
research for my undergraduate thesis titled “Assessment of Single-Used Plastics in the
Departments of the Local Government of the City of Mati.”.
The purpose of my study is to determine the amount of single-use plastic waste generated by
the employees’ and assess the employees' use and readiness to participate in a ban on single-
use items such as plastic bottles, disposable plastic straws, and plastic bags was the main
emphasis of this survey. I have chosen to focus my research on single use plastics which is one
of the main problem in our community or in our city. This study aims to improve the waste
management practices to reduce the plastic waste and to avoid pollution and contamination in
our community.
I am reaching out to request your assistance in the following ways:
Interviews and Surveys: I may need to interview key members of the local government to
gather valuable insights. Your support in arranging these interviews would be invaluable.
Site Visits: If applicable, I may need to conduct site visits to specific locations within the city
LGU. Your assistance in obtaining necessary permissions or providing contacts for site access
would be highly appreciated.
