4. Why do you want to get a master's degree in science?
I want to get a master’s degree in science because I can gain specialized knowledge and skills to
develop my future career. I can have in-depth understanding and critical thinking. I can have
research skills in my science field. I expect to become a good manager in the future. I can
develop leadership skills and expertise.
5. How does English help you with your studies?
English can help me with my studies by providing access to global academic resources. Online
information, scientific research and academic publications are in English. I can have deeper and
more learning resources due to English. English is primary language of many top universities.
This provides me with more options for studying and accessing high-quality learning material.
6. What subject were you weakest / best at when you were a high- school student?
When I was a high-school student, chemistry was my best subject. The subject helps me
understand the natural world and complex chemical compounds. However, engineering
technology was my weakest subject in high school. I perceived it as a boring subject. I did not
like the subject.
7. What is most difficult to you when studying English?
The most difficult aspect of studying English is often its complex grammar rules. There are
diverse grammar rules that I need to learn to write English exactly. I must understand differences
between spoken communication and written communication. Other significant challenges are
fluent speaking skills and pronunciation. Listening skill is a challenge for me when learning
English.
8. Do you have any problems while you pursue your studies in HCM city? What are they?
I do not have any problems while I pursue my studies in HCM city. I am living and working in
HCM city. The city provides me with many opportunities to learn and work. Although cost of
living in the city can be higher than expected for my life, its education and healthcare aspects are
good. However, the city has heavy traffic and noise and air pollution.
9. If you could choose again, what would you decide to study instead?
If I could choose again, I would still decide to study biotechnology. I like biotechnology because
it is valuable for me to understand important aspects in health, the environment, industry and
agriculture. I have developed my knowledge of biotechnology. Biotechnology knowledge is
important for my career development. I want to develop the knowledge of biotechnology through
learning master program at University of National Science in Ho Chi Minh City.
10. Do you want to further your studies after getting a master’s degree? Why (not)?
I want to further my studies after getting a master’s degree because I think that lifelong learning
helps me enhance my skills and knowledge. Lifelong learning is important for adapting to a
rapidly changing world. I can develop my future career and enhance personal development. I
also want to become a lecturer in a famous university in HCMC city to impart my knowledge
and skills to my students. This is a future career orientation.
