1- Drop wire
Main function of drop wire To stop the
loom when a warp thread breaks. The
motion helps to remove the faults which
are expected to be produced due to warp
yarn breakage. All the warp yarns are
required to pass through an individual
wire, which is called a dropper.
DRAWING-IN PROCESS
The drawing-in process of the weaver’s beam comes after
sectional warping or sizing.
The drawing-in process mainly consists of two processes.
The first process is called Drawing-in and the second process
is called denting.
It is mostly performed manually in large-scale textile
industries,
automatic drawing-in machines are used, where more
productivity is required.
The drawing-in process is applied for the execution of a
new fabric design on the loom. When the fabric design is
repeated regularly, the warp tying (knotting) process is
applied to change a weaver’s beam. The tying process is
done manually or with the help of the knotting machine.
When the drawing-in is performed manually,
two persons do this job. The person who
selects the ends and presents them for drawing
is called the reacher. The person who draws
the ends through the eye of heald wire with
the help of a drawing hook is called a drawer
Heald Shaft:
heald shaft is produced by aluminum or wood. It is
a frame which contain more amount of wire. Every
wire contain a hole or eye in its center through the
ends of the warp sheet pass. The heald shafts are
also termed as ‘heald frames’ The total no. of
heald shafts varies according to the warp repeat
of the weave.
Denting:
When the drawing-in of the ends is completed, these
ends are passed through the dent of the reed
We can say that “denting is the process of passing
the ends through the dents of reed according to the
denting order of the fabric to be woven”
It can be performed by two-person.
one person selects the ends and
presents them to the other person
who passes these ends through the
dents of the reed.
Reed:
Reed is a metallic comb that is fixed to the sley with a reed cap.
This is made of steel wire rods set vertically in a frame. The
spaces between the wires are known as dents. The count of the
reed is decided by the no. of dents in 1 CM.
Reed count:
We say reed count 12
That mean 12 dents per 1 cm.
We say reed count 20 that mean 20 dents/cm
Tying-in:
After the depletion of a warp beam on the weaving
machine, if there is no change in design, The ends of the
old warp beam are cut and the ends of the new warp
beam are tied to the corresponding ends of the old beam
which is called the tying-in process. Then, the warp ends
are pulled through the heddle eyes and reed until the
knots are cleared. A typical warp typing machine
can knot single yarn from 1.7 to 80 Ne (340-7 tex.).
They knot cotton, wool, synthetic and blend warp yarns as well as yarns of different
thickness. Typical knotting of a knotter is from 60-600 knots per minute.
