INTRODUCTION:
 In the modern retail environment, enhancing customer
experience through automation and smart technologies is
becoming increasingly important. Traditional shopping carts
offer limited functionality and require manual effort for
navigation and billing. This project introduces a Smart
Shopping Cart designed to assist users in navigating store
departments, scanning products, and calculating bills
automatically. By integrating voice interaction, joystick
control, obstacle detection, RFID scanning, and real-time
billing display, this cart aims to make shopping more
efficient, interactive, and enjoyable.

PROJECT ABSTRACT:
 This project presents a Smart Shopping Cart that enhances
the retail shopping experience through automation and user-
friendly features. Upon startup, the cart greets the user with
a voice message using a DF Player Mini module. Users can
select their desired department—Clothing or Electronics—via
dedicated push buttons, prompting the cart to navigate
accordingly.
 A joystick module allows manual control of the cart’s pace
and direction, encouraging users to walk or jog alongside it.
The cart is equipped with ultrasonic or IR sensors for obstacle
detection, ensuring safe movement by automatically
stopping when an object is detected and resuming once the
path is clear.
 For product scanning, the cart uses an EM-18 RFID reader to
identify items tagged with RFID cards. Each scanned item is
logged into the system for billing purposes. A 16x2 LCD or
OLED display shows the total bill in real-time, updating as
new items are added.
 This smart cart system combines convenience, safety, and
automation, making it a valuable innovation for modern
retail environments.

Geared DC Motor

For moment of base

The base module integrates multiple components for motorized movement control. It uses the
Ai-Thinker VC-02 Kit for wireless or voice input, along with push buttons and a joystick module
for manual control. These inputs are processed by an Arduino Mega microcontroller, which
sends commands to an L298 motor driver that powers the DC motors for base movement. This
setup enables flexible and precise control of the system.

Module no 2:- RFID Scanning & Billing Display Module.

CARD microcontroller with I2C Interface

The RFID Scanning & Billing Display Module uses an RFID reader to scan tags or cards, processes
the data via an Arduino Mega, and displays the information on a 20x4 LCD with I2C interface. It
is ideal for applications like automated billing and access control.

The height adjusting module uses a push button to control an Arduino Mega, which operates a
blade motor via a dual-channel relay and drives a lead screw mechanism through an L298
motor driver for precise vertical adjustment.

Module no 4:- Obstacle Detection.

The obstacle detection module uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect objects and sends data to an
Arduino Mega, which controls the L298 motor driver to adjust base motors for collision
avoidance.

Module no 5:- power supply module

POWER SUPPLY Charger rechargeable
battery

The power supply module converts 230V AC into a stable DC source using a B3 Lithium Battery
Charger to charge a 2200mAh 3S 22.2V Li-Po rechargeable battery, which powers the entire
system efficiently.
