Your Practice Routine

Goal: Memorize the scale shape so that you can play it without relying on scale charts or tabs.

25 Minute Practice Routine:

1. Exercises 1 to 5 (10 minutes): Start by playing each exercise, focusing on accuracy and
consistency. (Watch the video below for an example of a full 10 minute routine
playing all 5 exercises back to back)

2. Licks Practice (10 minutes): Spend about 10 minutes practicing the licks provided for
this mode. Focus on ‘seeing’ how the licks fit inside the scale shape. This will help you
get a feel for how this mode can be used musically.

3. Improvisation (5 minutes): Practice improvising with this mode shape only, over the
provided backing track. Focus on creating melodic phrases that target chord tones and
play around with the scale shape.
