Understanding Energy Forms and Sources

The document discusses various forms of energy, including mechanical, heat, electrical, and renewable sources like solar and wind. It explains the law of conservation of energy, kinetic and gravitational potential energy, and the impact of fossil fuel consumption on climate change. Additionally, it highlights the importance of reducing fossil fuel use and explores alternative energy sources derived from the Sun and geothermal energy.

Writing
1. Energy is a physical quantity for the ability to exert.
2. Energy is divided into forms based on the source of energy, such as mechanical
energy, heat energy, electrical energy, light energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy,
etc.
3. Renewable energy is energy from continuous sources that are considered
inexhaustible, such as solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, etc.
4. The law of the conservation of energy states that energy is neither created nor
destroyed. It only changes from one form to another or transfers from one object to
another.
5. The kinetic energy of an object is energy that comes from its motion. The kinetic
energy has a value equal to half the product of the mass and square of velocity of
the object
6. The gravitational potential energy of an object with a weight P at a height h
relative to ground is calculated by the formula: Wt = P.h
7. The work is conducted by a force and is calculated as the product of the
magnitude of the force and the distance that an object travels in the direction of the
force.

Part B.
1. Source of energy include burning coal, oil gas and biomass solar,
hydroelectric, tidal, wind, muscle power, geothermal, nuclear fusion and
fision
2. Fossil fuels originate from the Sun because most of energy come from the
Sun, our fossil fuels are ancient biomass which rejoin with the oxygen when
we burn them pulting the greenhouse gas into carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere.
3. We must reduce the burning of fossil fuels beacause the burning of fossil
fuels realeases greenhouse gases which causes a climate change.
4. Some ways that energy can be derived directly or in directly from the Sun,
sich as eating and respiring food, burning harvested boimass, wave power,
hydroelectricity, solar panels, and wind turbines
5. Geothermal energy is energy formed from the heat stored in the Earth’s
rocks. We can use this thermal energy to generate steam in a power station
thus using an electric current to transfer energy to use in our home, we call
this geothermal energy.
