Can you describe your experience with designing automation frameworks using

Selenium and Java?

In my current role as an Automation Test Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services, I


have had extensive experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks
using Selenium WebDriver and Java. My journey began with analyzing user stories and
creating comprehensive test scenarios that align with Agile methodologies. I
focused on building a hybrid automation framework that incorporates both the Page
Object Model (POM) and Data-Driven Testing approaches. This design choice not only
enhances the maintainability of the test scripts but also allows for easy
scalability as new features are added to the application.

One of my key achievements was developing reusable utilities that significantly


reduced testing effort by 80%. This was accomplished by creating a library of
functions that could be called across different test cases, thereby minimizing
redundancy and improving efficiency. I utilized TestNG for managing test cases and
reporting, which provided a structured way to execute tests and analyze results.

Additionally, I implemented BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) using Cucumber, which


facilitated better collaboration between technical and non-technical team members.
This approach allowed stakeholders to understand the testing process more clearly
and ensured that the tests were aligned with business requirements.

Throughout my experience, I have also performed API testing using Postman,


validating responses with Java utilities. This has given me a solid understanding
of how front-end and back-end components interact, which is crucial for effective
automation testing. Overall, my experience in designing automation frameworks has
equipped me with the skills necessary to contribute effectively to your team at
Hexaware Technologies.
