*Stage 4: Development of the Chosen Idea*
*4.1 Indication of Choice*
I chose to develop the idea of *awareness
programs in schools* to promote responsible
social media use among teenagers.
*4.2 Justification of Points*
- Schools provide a structured environment where
many teenagers can be reached at once.
- Educating students about both the benefits and
dangers of social media can help them make
better decisions.
- Awareness programs can encourage students to
develop self-discipline and healthy habits.
- Such programs can include discussions,
workshops, and guest speakers to make learning
engaging.
*4.3 Three Developments or Refinements*
1. Planned interactive workshops where students
discuss real-life social media scenarios and their
consequences.
2. Included sessions on digital literacy to help
students identify fake news and avoid
misinformation.
3. Developed a peer mentorship system where
older students support younger ones in
responsible social media use.
*4.4 Overall Presentation or Impression of Final
Solution*
The solution is comprehensive, targeting
knowledge, skills, and behavior change. It
encourages active participation and peer support,
making the program more relatable and effective.
By empowering students with information and
tools, the program aims to foster safer and more
balanced social media habits.
*Stage 5: Presentation of Final Solution*
*5.1 Presentation of an Artifact*
I created a detailed lesson plan and educational
pamphlet for the awareness program. The
pamphlet contains important information about
social media benefits, risks, and tips for
responsible use.
*5.2 Presentation of a Service*
I conducted a mock awareness session at my
school, presenting the lesson and engaging
classmates in discussions and role-plays about
social media scenarios. This helped to
demonstrate how the program would work in a real
setting.
*5.3 Presentation of a Product*
The final product is a complete awareness
program package, including lesson plans,
pamphlets, and activities designed to educate
teenagers on managing their social media use
respon be adapted by schools.
*Stage 6: Evaluation and Recommendation*
*6.1 Relevance to Statement of Intent*
The project successfully addressed the goal of
exploring social media’s impact on teenagers and
promoting responsible use through school
awareness programs. Feedback from classmates
showed increased understanding and interest in
managing their social media habits.
*6.2 Challenges Encountered*
- Some students were initially uninterested or
skeptical about the importance of the topic.
- It was challenging to design activities that
engaged everyone equally.
- Time constraints limited the depth of discussion
during the mock session.
*6.3 Recommendations*
- Schools should integrate regular social media
awareness sessions into their curriculum.
- Use more interactive and relatable activities to
maintain student interest.
- Encourage involvement of parents and teachers
for a stronger support system.
- Update educational materials regularly to reflect
new social media trends and risks.
