FLAT ROOF GI STRUCTURE
1. INTRODUCTION
This document serves as the user manual for flat roof GI structure. This is a low cost
compact structure suitable for flat roofs and the structure is made of roll formed GI
profiles(C channels and angles)120GSM standards and 550GSM on request. Structure
suitable for flat roof small to mid sized [Link] fixing the structure on the roof,
brickwork foundation is constructed over the C Channel legs.
2. FEATURES
a. No welding required.
b. Tailored to meet roof area and system size
c. Designed to withstand wind gusts of 150kmph.

4. Structure Installation procedure :
4.1 Assembly of L brackets with legs :

a. The two L Brackets is attached at the bottom of both sides of the long leg C Channel at
two sides by using M12 bolts and nuts.
b. The same assembly is repeated for the Short Leg C Channel.
4.2 Fixing of base C Channel with legs :
a. The base C Channel is fixed at the top of the long leg and short leg C Channels by using
M8 X 20mm bolts and nuts.
b. The assembly of base C Channel is shown in fig 4.2.1

4.3 Assembly of L Angle with the base C Channel :
a. The L Angle is placed at the top of the Base C Channels which supports the long leg C
Channel and short leg C Channel.
b. The L Angle and Base C Channels are connected by the M10 X 20mm bolts and nuts.
c. The assembly of L Angle is shown in below figures 4.3.1 and 4.3.2.

4.4 Assembly of two L Angles with a base C Channels :
a. The two L Angles are placed above the base C Channels as shown in fig 4.4.1.
b. The modules are placed in the both sides of the L Angles.

4.5 Placing of solar panels above the L Angle :
a. The solar panel is placed above the L Angle.
b. The End clamps and mid clamps are used to clamp the panel with the L Angle.

4.6 Assembly of Mid clamp :
a. The Mid clamp is used to clamp the two panels at the centre of the L – Angle.
b. Mid clamp is hold the panels by using the M8 X 25mm bolts and nuts as shown.

4.8 Assembly of Array of structure :
a. Next to the assembled setup the array of module is placed above the extruded sides
of L angle as shown in fig 4.8.1.

4.9 Construction of Brickwork Foundation :
a. Before starting the brickwork foundation, first chip the roof for the connection of
foundation with the roof as shown in fig 4.9.2.
b. The attached coach screws in the two sides of the L foot is used to made the
connection between the structure and the roof as shown in fig 4.9.1.
c. For long leg C Channel the brick work foundation is constructed for the length,
breadth, height for 1x1x1ft dimensions and for short leg C Channel the foundation is
constructed for 1ftx1ftx8inches dimensions as shown in fig 4.9.3 and fig 4.9.4.

5. MAINTENANCE :
The following procedures should be carried out when assembling of the structure has been
completed.
1. Check and tighten the bolts and nuts in the structure.
2. Check the panels were settled properly.
3. Check that the brickwork foundation were constructed properly over the GI Legs .
