Bismillahirrohmanirrohim
Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Honourable the judges of this contest.
Dear my friends who participate in this speech contest.
And my loving brothers, sisters, ladies and gentlement.
First of all, let’s thank and pray unto Allah SWT who has given us some mercies and blessings
‘till we can attend this speech contest without any problem.
Secondly, let’s deliver our sholawat and salam to our last prophet, Muhammad SAW, who has led
us from the darkness to the brightness ‘till we can know the true life.
In this opportunity, I would like to present my speech under the title of “SOCIAL MEDIA AND
POLITENESS”.
Ladies and gentlement.
Social Media. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Youtube — we love them! They help us connect,
share photos, and learn new things.
But there is one important thing we must remember when we are online: Politeness, or in simple words,
being kind.
We have two main worlds.
- First, The Real World: When you talk face-to-face with a friend, you use nice words.
You smile. You are careful not to hurt their feelings. This is being polite in real life.
- Second, The Online World: Social Media is a little different. We hide behind our
screens. Sometimes, it feels like we can say anything we want without thinking. But this
is wrong.
The person reading your comment or your post is a real person with real feelings.
Sadly, we see a lot of rudeness online. This is called "cyberbullying" or just being a "troll."
People write mean comments.
They spread fake news.
They say things they would never say in person.
This bad behaviour makes people sad, angry, and scared. It turns our fun online world into an unpleasant,
toxic place. We must stop this!
"Treat others the way you want to be treated."
Here are three simple ways we can follow this rule online:
1. Think Before You Type – The Pause – Before you post a comment or a status, stop for
three seconds. Ask yourself: “Is this true? Is this helpful? Is this kind?” If the answer is
No to any of those, don’t post it.
2. Use Kind Words – No Shouting – We should use polite language, even if we disagree
with someone. Remember, typing in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is like shouting online. It
is rude. Let's debate with respect, not with anger.
3. Spread Positivity – Be a Good Influencer – Use your social media for good! Share things
that inspire, make people laugh, or teach something useful. If you see someone being
bullied, stand up for them. Be a good example for your friends.
What we post in social media will stay forever. Even if you delete it, someone might have saved a
screenshot. So, always think before you click "Post”.
Friends, social media is a gift. It connects us to the whole world. But just like any tool, we must use it
wisely and kindly.
Ladies and gentlement, in my speech today i would like to persuade the teenegers to be the
generation that cleans up the internet. Let’s make our online world as polite and respectful as our real
world.
Let our screens be windows to kindness, not walls of rudeness.
I think that’s all for my speech. I do apologize if I have many mistakes in my speech.
Wassalamualaikum wr. wb.
