Basic Rabbit Care Guide
This guide is developed by House
Rabbit Society Singapore (HRSS), with
basic information and useful resources
on rabbit care for potential adopters.

tablespoons of pellets
per rabbit, fresh water

Do not give muesli-type
pellets that contain

Diet- Treats
Rabbits can be given treats as part of their diet
Fruits are high in sugar and should be fed in moderation, 1 - 2
tablespoons a day
Examples, apple, banana, blueberry, grapes, papaya, etc
In place of fruits, give dry treats from reputable food brands
Grooming
Trimming of nails, cleaning of scent
glands every 1 - 2 months
Rabbits shed every 2 - 4 months
and will require daily brushing
during shedding
Engage a rabbit-savvy groomer if
you are not confident of grooming

Rabbits are fragile and should be

Rabbits do not make any
noise even when they are sick
Common health issues are
gastrointestinal stasis (GI or
gut stasis), dental problems
such as overgroom teeth,
spurs, etc
Send to a rabbit-savvy vet
immediately if rabbit is not
eating, inactive, or irregular-
shaped poo
