2.1 Project Code
All Project codes based on “APEX” and “IEC 81346 / IEC 61346” (EGY2001)
2.2 Designation of Main Systems:
2.2.1 Main system (BL0 level)
The top level of the functional hierarchy is represented by the Main System; it is also called
Breakdown Level BL0. Various similar or even different systems can be integrated into the Main
Systems. The project code consists of one letter and three numbers, A1N1N2N3. Below are the
proposed BL0 codes used by Owner:
=Gnnn – Energy Conversion. It is used for power-generating assets like wind turbine
generators and Solar fields.
=Wnnn – Transmission of Energy or Resources
=W001 ... 099: HV Cable Systems
=W101 ... 399: MV Cable Systems
=W401 ... 499: LV Cable Systems
=W501 ... 599: Piping Systems
=W601 ... 699: Access Ways
=W701 ... 799: Transport Systems
=Unnn – Total plant. It is used for additional buildings, infrastructure objects and the
premises.
=Knnn – Common Communication.
=Tnnn – Transformation of electrical energy. Substation.
For Suez 1.1GW Wind Power Project, the main system code is specified as follows:
Main System Code
General Wind Farm G000
South Plot Wind Farm Energy Conversion System G100
North Plot Wind Farm Energy Conversion System G200
General Substations T000
500KV Substation in South Plot T101
220KV Substation in north of North Plot T102
220KV Substation in south of North Plot T103
General Common Communication System K000
Common Communication System for South Plot K101
Common Communication System for North Plot K102

MV Cable system in South Plot W101
MV Cable system in North Plot W102
Road access System (from South Plot to North Plot) W601-W626
2.3 Designation of Technical Systems
Designates Technical Systems Codes are based on IEC 81346 / IEC 61346 based on technologies.
The level that comes after BL0 is known as BL1, and it is referred to as a Technical System. The
Technical System consists of three Letters and two numbers (AAA). The System Codes are based on IEC
81346. The list of applicable first letters is shown in the table below.
Level= BL0 BL1
Naming = Main System Technical System
Number/Date Type Annn AAAnn
Example= G100 MDX__
Explanation for Technical System 1st letter Code from IEC Standard 81346. “We will use the applicable
codes for Suez 1.1GW Wind Power Project”
2.3.1 Technical System (BL1 level)
The level that comes after BL0 is known as BL1, and it is referred to as a Technical System.
The System Codes are based on IEC 81346. The Technical System consists of three Letters,
A1A2A3. Correct 3-letter code identification should be done hierarchically from top to bottom,
not in the opposite way.
For Owner Boundary Diagram of Wind Turbine Generator, please refer to “Annex 2-
WTG”. For Owner Boundary Diagram of BOP, please refer to “Annex 3-BOP”. These
documents list the most typical Technical System code. The list of applicable first letters is shown in
table below:-
