Saudi Arabia urges the committee to focus not just on drafting new policies, but on
enforcing what already exists. The UN’s credibility relies on its ability to uphold its
own commitments. We believe stronger mechanisms for accountability and
monitoring must be discussed in this council.

While Lebanon continues to suffer from political paralysis and economic collapse,
groups like Hezbollah — with clear backing from Iran — maintain a parallel armed

militias in Lebanon. The council must recognize that such armed presence prevents
Lebanon from governing independently and invites external interference. Saudi
Arabia calls for strong condemnation of Hezbollah’s role and support for Lebanon’s
legitimate institutions.

technical and legal support.

development necessity. A resolution that promotes disarmament, regional
diplomacy, and protection of civilian infrastructure will directly support the path to
stability and growth — not just for Saudi Arabia, but for the entire region.
