CHAPTER THREE

Research Methodology
3.1 Introduction
This chapter covers the research methodology that was employed by the
researcher in achieving the objectives of the study. The methodology include the
discussion on the research design that was used, target population, sampling,
data collection methods, research instruments to be used as well as discussion on
data that was collected.
3.2 Research Design
Ezirim(2004) opined that research design is the specific methods and procedures
for acquiring the information needed. The researcher employed descriptive
survey method in generating data for the study under investigation. This was
achieved through the distribution of questionnaires.
3.3 Population of the Study
The population of the study consists of all the staff/management of Top Model
Boutique in Mpape, Abuja.
3.4 Sample Size/Sampling Techniques.
Since the total population of Top Model Boutique in Mpape, Abuja is unknown,
the researcher adopted the non probability sampling techniques
(purposive/judgmental sampling) to determine its sample size of 35 staff of Top
Model Boutique.
3.5 Data Collection Methods
The researcher employed both primary and secondary method. The primary data
were collected through the use of structured questionnaires and the secondary
data was drawn from textbooks and journals.
3.6 Research Instruments
Research instruments are used to gather data. The researcher adopted
questionnaire method as the research instrument.
3.7 Method of Data Analysis
In the analysis of data for this study, the researcher made use of the Pearson
Product Moment Correlation Co-efficient. This is on the basis of gathering
nominal data.
