Read the text carefully:
Carlos’s Life Between Two Worlds
Carlos is a 16-year-old student who lives in Monterrey, but he also spends part of the year
in Texas with his father. During the school year, he usually wakes up at 6:15 a.m. and takes
the bus to school. He studies from Monday to Friday and plays soccer with his friends after
classes.
On weekends, Carlos helps his mother at her restaurant. He washes dishes, serves
customers, and sometimes cooks. He doesn’t like waking up early on Saturdays, but he
enjoys working with his mom.
When Carlos stays in Texas, his routine is completely different. He wakes up later, eats
cereal for breakfast, and walks his dog in the park. He practices his English with his cousins
and watches movies in English.
Carlos says life in Mexico is busy but fun, while life in the U.S. is calmer and more
relaxing. He believes both experiences help him learn discipline and appreciate his family.
