2. Identify barriers and create solutions.
List three barriers that could have an external or internal influence on your success this semester and
propose possible solutions. Respond to each of the following with 100-125 words using explanatory and
descriptive sentences. Explanatory sentences will provide relevant details and examples when necessary
and connect responses to personal knowledge and experience.
Barrier 1: Procrastination

Solution I truly suffer from procrastination. I even am writing this the day before it's due even though
1: I was given this assignment almost two weeks before. I get easily intimidated by work and
always put things off till the last moment, this being an example. I know I can try and handle
large tasks by making a routine and checklist on what work needs to get done. I already have
a planner and know I should practice handling projects at small doses at a time could work
as well. I hope to learn more about how to manage my time more in this class.
Barrier 2: Social Life

Solution Though I deny it, I have a bit of a social life. I always have someone to talk to or catch up
2: with. I took away my 5th period class so I could have a study hall but I hang out with my
friend more than I work. I wanted to use the time to catch up on work and just take a second
to breath. I now use it to make sandwich runs with my friend and chat. To solve this
problem, I hope soon, is once testing and other important work begin popping up I'll be able
to address that I need space. I could also walk to the collage library if I really needed
isolation.
Barrier 3: Burn out
Solution I get burn out at least once every two months, sometimes more. It might just be the
3: procrastinator in me, or maybe I run so fast I eventually fall. Either way, at some point I
usually feel emotionally drained and can't work anymore without breaking down. I believe I
have ADD or something along those lines but I don't have anything diagnosed. I know that
breaking down and feeling like doing nothing is inevitable but at least when I burn out I can
have a back-up plan. I think learning how to manage my time more and understand my
mental limits will help me in the future.

3. Semester Calendar
