Complete Blood Count
It is a medical exam that allows for the evaluation and gathering of information about the different
types of blood cells. It also represents a routine test and is one of the
more requested that helps us diagnose different types of diseases.
It is a blood test that measures the blood cells.
The types of cells are:
Red blood cells (RBC)
White blood cells (WBC)
Fragments of blood cells that help with clotting (platelets).
Changes in these cells can alert your doctor about many
conditions that include anemia, infection, inflammation, bleeding, and related cancer
with the blood
RED SERIES
A CBC measures the RBCs, WBCs, platelets, and their different components. The RBCs are
They are produced in the internal tissue of the bones (bone marrow) and are released into the blood.
These cells contain a protein that carries oxygen through the blood.
