 2. OBJECTIVE

This Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) aims to ensure

protection for workers against respiratory risks through
proper use of respirators. These equipment can only be
used when necessary to complement collective protection measures
implemented, or while they are being implemented and in the
emergencies.

3. COMPANY POLICY

The Brazilian Hospital Services Company - EBSERH, Hospital branch

Maria Aparecida Pedrossian University - HUMAP/UFMS - establishes, through
of this PPR, a set of measures aimed at adjusting the use of
respiratory protective equipment (RPE), when necessary, for
complement existing collective protective measures or to ensure a
complete protection for the employee against respiratory risks in the environments of
work.

 5. SCOPE

All HUMAP workers exposed to respiratory risks, well

how service providers of any kind must comply and cooperate to
the success of this program.

6. RESPONSIBILITIES

From the Administrative Management

Approve and ensure the implementation of the PPR, as well as ensure its
effectiveness.

Support and provide resources, instruments, materials, and necessary conditions

to the execution of the PPR.

Indicate the professional responsible for administering the PPR.

Comply with and enforce current legislation.

From the Occupational Safety Service

Elaborate the PPR and coordinate the development of the proposed actions in this
program, focusing on accident prevention and occupational diseases.

Assist the sectors in executing actions for implementation and maintenance of

PPR.

Specify the appropriate respirator for the employee's exposure, provided that
present the Certificate of Approval (CA) issued by the Ministry of
Labor and Social Security (MTPS) and registration with the National Agency
Health Surveillance (ANVISA), in the case of biological risk.

Conduct training on the use and maintenance of respirators, as well as

inform about the risks involved in the operation.

Monitor the operation of the ventilator and take necessary measures.

In the case of a manufacturing defect, notify the manufacturer.

7. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION, LIMITATION AND USE OF RESPIRATORS

Only the use of respirators approved by the Ministry will be allowed.

established by the manufacturer. In case of exposure to biological risk, it will be
also necessary to register with the National Health Surveillance Agency
(ANVISA).

8. OTHER FACTORS THAT AFFECT THE SELECTION OF A RESPIRATOR

Facial Hair

The worker who uses a respirator cannot have facial hair (beard, mustache)

9. TRAINING

 11. PROGRAM REVIEW

The effectiveness of the PPR is verified annually (Annual Audit), in

period during which the review of the base document takes place. At this stage, there will be

compliance, execution of the control measures adopted for elimination,
neutralization or reduction of risks, or if new risks have emerged in
work environment.
